Luxembourg City has evolved a lot over the last two decades which can be seen most impressively at the Kirchberg area with its newly built main street, the tram and its multitude of new buildings. Those are often architecturally striking but the most intriguing one in my eyes is the concert hall, called the "Philharmonie" with its clear, yet sophisticated, lines and its large array of columns.

Milky Way shot in a field near the small village of Kuborn, one of the few places in Luxembourg with a lower light pollution level. Actually, what may look like the last moments of a setting sun, are the streetlights of a small village a couple kilometres away.
Once a flourishing metal processing region, most of the old furnaces in the south of Luxembourg have now been decommissioned. In Belval, a huge project was undertaken to incorporate the old industry buildings into a new urban center. Among the towering chimneys, people may now stroll and enjoy the many restaurants or shops, go to the university or visit concerts only a stone's throw away from the old factory.
